The man behind Joker and Witch and Teejh, Satish Singh, his story is about courage, creativity, and believing in yourself. A marketing graduate from MICA, Ahmedabad, Satish started his career working in big IT companies like Capgemini and HCL. But deep down, he always knew he wanted to do something different, something that mixed his love for fashion, design, and business.

Today, Satish is known as the man behind two famous Indian fashion brands, Joker & Witch and Teejh. Both brands are changing how young Indians express themselves through style. But his success didn’t come overnight. It took years of patience, hard work, and belief in his dreams.

After finishing his studies, Satish worked in marketing roles for top IT firms. The job was safe and well-paying, but something inside him wasn’t satisfied. He was always interested in fashion and noticed that while India had many clothing brands, there weren’t many affordable yet stylish accessory brands for young Indians.

So, in 2015, Satish decided to take a big step. He left his stable corporate job and started Joker & Witch, a brand focused on fashionable watches and accessories. His idea was simple, to create stylish and good-quality products that didn’t cost too much.
“I always believed that accessories can change how you feel,” Satish once said. “Even a small piece, a watch, bracelet, or necklace, can make you feel confident and complete.”

Building Joker & Witch

With this belief, Satish started Joker & Witch from a small office in Bengaluru. He wanted his brand to speak to young Indians who loved fashion but didn’t want to spend a lot.

Soon, his wife Maya Varma joined him as co-founder. Maya, a graduate from NIFT Delhi, had earlier worked with brands like Swarovski and designers like Rajesh Pratap Singh. She brought a strong creative vision to the brand, from designing products to following global fashion trends.

Together, Satish and Maya built something special. Joker & Witch became known for its clean, modern, and confident style, perfect for millennials and Gen Z. Over time, the brand expanded its range from watches to earrings, bracelets, and layered jewellery looks that became Instagram favourites.

The brand built a strong online community of young fashion lovers across India.

The Birth of Teejh

After Joker & Witch’s success, Satish and Maya wanted to create something closer to India’s roots. That’s how Teejh was born in 2020, a brand that celebrates Indian culture, womanhood, and traditions.

Teejh started with a simple thought, how can modern Indian women enjoy traditional fashion without feeling uncomfortable or outdated? The answer came through sarees and jewellery that mixed heritage with modern design.

From elegant handwoven sarees to bold oxidised chokers, every Teejh piece tells a story. Each product is made to make women feel strong, graceful, and confident, whether it’s for a festival or a normal day.

One thing that makes Teejh special is how it works with local Indian artisans. These craftspeople, who have been doing traditional work like meenakari and filigree for generations, now get to share their art with modern India through Teejh. The brand helps keep old crafts alive while giving them a fresh, stylish twist.

During festivals like Diwali, Teejh’s sarees and jewellery shine bright. They’re not just fashion, they represent feelings, memories, and pride.

Maya often says, “We want every woman to feel celebrated, not just on special days, but every day.” That idea clearly shows in Teejh’s designs, from metallic earrings to pastel sarees that feel modern yet rooted in tradition.

Satish and Maya make a great team, Satish handles business, branding, and strategy, while Maya looks after creativity and design. Together, they have built two different brands that share one heart, authentic Indian style.

Their success came from staying patient and true to their vision. Both brands focused on quality, storytelling, and building real connections with customers. They didn’t chase quick fame, they built communities that love their products.

After 10 years of hard work, both Joker & Witch and Teejh are now profitable and growing strong. They have also received backing from Globalbees, a famous Indian unicorn company that invests in promising brands.

Satish believes this is just the beginning. He says Indian brands now have the power to stand proudly next to global names, as long as they stay real and keep innovating.

For Teejh, the next phase is about “modern nostalgia”, keeping the soul of Indian tradition but reimagining it for today’s lifestyle. The brand also plans to use sustainable fabrics, modular jewellery, and eco-friendly fashion ideas for conscious shoppers.
