South Asian Women Founders Selected for Unlock Her Future Prize

New Delhi: The “Unlock Her Future Prize” is a global award for women entrepreneurs that has selected several South Asian women founders for its latest edition. It’s aimed at supporting women building businesses that create social impact-meaning businesses which solve real community problems.

Women from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have been selected this year. Issues their businesses deal with range from education and women’s safety to clean water, mental health, and sustainability. Each selected winner will receive funding, mentorship, and global recognition.

The prize committee says that they look for founders who use creativity and innovation to change lives. Many of the selected women come from small towns and faced several challenges while building their startups. But their ideas stood out because they directly help society.

The winners will be added to a global network of change-makers. This also includes leaders, investors, and successful entrepreneurs who will further help them grow much faster. In training programs, selected founders will learn how to scale their businesses, improve operations, and reach more users.

Such programs are paramount because many women entrepreneurs in South Asia do not receive adequate support; this ranges from a lack of investors, family pressure, and, in some cases, infrastructure shortages. The Unlock Her Future Prize breaks these barriers by giving them global visibility.

According to experts, women-led social enterprises are growing fast in South Asia.
